Invitation to hui at Ōhako Marae

Ōhako Marae, in collaboration with Gisborne District Council, warmly invites you to attend a hui on Monday 9 February 2026 at Ōhako Marae.
This hui will focus on projects underway in Te Ārai, including:
Flood resilience
Freshwater planning
Willow management
Land use transition.
The hui is an opportunity for Council to share updates on each project, answer questions, and discuss preferred options for willow management. A written summary of all four projects will be provided on the day.
Hui programme
8.30am – 11.00am | Hapū session This session will include four short presentations followed by facilitated discussion. There will be space to hear hapū perspectives, respond to questions, and gather feedback.
11.05am – 12.40pm | Landowners session This session will include four short presentations for landowners and will conclude with a shared lunch alongside hapū participants and Council staff.
